The multiplayer beta for Warcraft III: Reforged is about to start, with limited access to the orc and human races within 1v1 and 2v2 matchmaking.
According to a statement released to press, Blizzard will send invitations to the Warcraft III: Reforged multiplayer beta over the coming weeks. Initial invitations will go out in waves to players who have pre-purchased the Spoils of War edition of the game. Subsequent waves of invitations will go out to additional players later, such as those who have pre-purchased the standard edition of Warcraft II: Reforged.
The Spoils of War Edition of the game gives players who purchase it a few additional perks both in Warcraft III: Reforged and in Blizzard’s other titles. World of Warcraft players can enjoy riding around on the Meat Wagon mount. Those who enjoy Heroes of the Storm will be pleased to see Thrall, Anub’arak, Jaina, and Tyrande join their roster of available heroes. Hearthstone gamers will receive the Third War card back.
In addition to the above perks, the Spoils of War Edition of Warcraft III: Reforged will also give ‘reforged skins’ for use in WCIII, such as Champion of the Horde Thrall, Daughter of the Seas Proudmoore, Fallen King Arthas, and Emerald Nightmare Cenarius. Overwatch players will get five new player icons: Human, Orc, Undead, Night Elf, and Lich King, as well as four animated sprays: Footman, Grunt, Ghoul, and Archer. Diablo III adventurers will recieve a Mal’ganis pet to follow them around and pick up all their gold.
Warcraft III: Reforged is a top to bottom upgrade of Blizzard Entertainment’s groundbreaking 2002 real-time strategy game Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and its award-winning expansion, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne.
