The Video Game Awards 2018 Overview

We saw yesterday at the Video Game Awards 2018, how God of War won the Game of the Year award, and the announcement of Joker from Persona 5 joining the roster of Super smash Bros. Ultimate, but there was also a lot of announcements for new games and additional content for existing ones. Today, we give you an overview of the announcements made during the show, from small gaming companies to the larger ones.

Here’s the overview of The Video Game Awards 2018:

The first world premiere announcement being made in the show is Sayonara Wild Hearts, an euphoric music video dream about being awesome, riding motorcycles, skateboarding, dance battling, shooting lasers, wielding swords, and breaking hearts at 200 mph, coming to the Nintendo Switch sometime in 2019.

The second world premiere announced at the show was Journey to the Savage Planet, the new game from 505 Games and Typhoon Studios. This is a new action game that will be released in 2019 for the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC. Journey to the Savage Planet is an upbeat first-person adventure game set in a bright and colourful alien world filled with weird and wonderful creatures.

The next announcement is a deluxe edition for The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe. This deluxe edition will be available sometime in 2019 for PC and consoles, and it will include new content, like alternative endings and technical upgrades.

A vibrant first-person survival adventure game gets announced, Among Trees, a colorful wilderness world teeming with life that will launch on Steam Early Access for PC sometime in 2019.

A new DLC was announced for Rocket League, featuring the McLaren 570S Car Pack, that is available now.

After the announcement of Far Cry New Dawn, Super Giant Games, the creators of Bastion and Transistor, announces Hades, a rogue-like dungeon crawler that has hack and slash elements and you will need to defy the god of death as you make your way out of the Underworld of Greek myth. The game is currently In Early Access as this is a living game in active development! Expect regular updates with new features, events, characters, places, powers, and more.

It is revealed an early look at the new game from the Assassin’s Creed creator, Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey, an ambitious game that will let us live different historical periods. The game will begin in the prehistoric era, but we will be able to advance time and we will be able to manage resources to make our tribe evolve. The game will be launched sometime in 2019.

Midwinter reveals a trailer for their upcoming game called Scavengers, bringing the excitement and unpredictability of class-based team building to its unique blend of competitive and cooperative survival gameplay. The first play test for the game will be launched on 2019.

During the show, we could see some trailers of Warframe, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and the announcement of the release date of the upcoming update for Dead by Daylight, called “Darkness Among Us,” that will feature a new killer, survivor and location for the game.

Hello Games revealed a trailer of their upcoming game called The Last Campfire, a story of a lost ember trapped in a puzzling place, searching for meaning and a way home. The game will launch for PC in 2019.

After some exciting announcements, Double Fine reveals the trailer for their most anticipated sequel, Psychonauts 2, a game that tells the story of Razputin Aquato, a gifted acrobat with psychic powers, as he fulfills his life-long goal of becoming an international psychic super-spy. The game is is set to release in 2019, on PCs and consoles.
