The Surge 2 to Release September 24

German studio Deck13 announced that the sequel to the brutal RPG title, The Surge, will be having its sequel release on September 24th for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

The Surge 2 is dated for September for all platforms worldwide which is good for The Surge as the game featured heavy melee combat, different armor parts, and excessive finishers.

The first game was a huge hit with Dark Souls fans as the game featured strategic gameplay by targeting certain body parts and brutal enemies as they have the ability to kill you in a couple of hits.

Additionally Wccftech found on the Australian Microsoft store that the game is available to preorder for the 24th for around $60. The preorder bonus includes:

  • Warren’s most iconic weapon from the Surge: the well-used Cutter
  • The full-body URBN armor set
  • The URBN Judgement Axe
  • The URBN Skimmer Drone
  • The Lootscan.exe Radar Module
  • A unique online message icon

The description for the game according to the Microsoft store states, “On the way to Jericho City, your plane is shot down by a mysterious storm and crash-lands in the outskirts. You wake up weeks later in a derilect detention facility inside the city. Soldiers enforce Martial Law, robots are on a rampage, and a dark, expanding nanostorm looms over the cityscape… Fight numerous, ferocious threats in brutal, unforgiving combat, slashing and tearing the limbs off your opponents to steal valuable equipment that will make you stronger.”

Well it would seem that the game will largely stay the same from the first game, and with more limb-ripping and more brutal combat seems just fine for veterans of the first game.

It looks like that Deck 13 has dealt with the leak by simply announcing the date of the next game and that’s good knowing the game is fairly close to completion with this announcement.
