The Next Nintendo Console Will Now Reportedly Launch in 2025

According to recent reports from journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe and Eurogamer, Nintendo will not release its successor to Switch until Q1 2025. Lippe stated that according to five separate sources, the next Nintendo console will not launch until 2025. He also stated that some sources believe the release was pushed from the initial 2024 release window. Other sources also claim that the console had a Q1 2025 release window for a long time. Additionally, Eurogamer editor-in-chief Tom Phillips corroborated these claims with a separate report. The report claims that the console may launch in early 2025, according to several industry sources. However, the report also states that these claims do not have concrete backing. Lastly, in a recent VGC report, the site claims it has heard from “multiple sources who said Nintendo has told publishers its next console will now launch in Q1 2025.”

In other news, according to a recent Reuters report, the next Nintendo console will include a custom Nvidia chip. The report states that “Nintendo’s current Switch handheld console already includes Nvidia’s Tegra X1 chip.” The report also states that the heavily anticipated and rumored console “is likely to include a Nvidia custom design.” Additionally, prominent leaker and content creator record PH Brazil revealed that the upcoming console will feature both digital and physical backwards compatibility with the Nintendo Switch. Lastly, it will also reportedly allow developers to upgrade previous games to match the specs of the newer console. It’s worth noting none of these claims have been confirmed by Nintendo.
