The Next God of War Title Has Reportedly Been Delayed

In a recent episode of Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb’s Podcast, Grubb stated that the rumored God of War title set in Greece has been “pushed to 2026” internally. This would suggest that the game was originally scheduled for sometime this year. The title has been rumored to be a small “side story” and is allegedly a 2.5D metroidvania game that will feature a young Kratos and his father. However, these claims have yet to be officially confirmed by Sony or Santa Monica Studio.

“We did that God of War rumour last week of it being set in Egypt, and then I got a message a couple of hours before the podcast went live…,” said Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson in a past podcast. “From what I’ve been told, it isn’t set in Egypt. It’s actually set in Greece, and it is going to be a younger Kratos this time.” “Apparently the storyline has more to do with his relationship with his father and all that kind of stuff,” he added.
