The Day Before Servers Will Shut Down Next Month

The Day Before publisher MyTona has announced that servers for the highly controversial and disliked title will shut down on January 22, 2024. In the message, posted on the game’s official Twitter account, the publisher confirms that developer Fntastic has ceased all operations and that “Steam will proactively refund all remaining players” who bought the title. The publisher also claims that “unfortunately, without a development team, we had no alternative but to officially close the project.” This essentially means that the game will no longer be playable less than two months since it launched on December 7.

The publisher recently announced that “Fntastic received $0 and will receive nothing from The Day Before sales.” The developer also announced that it has shut down just a week after the game’s launch because the game “failed financially” and the studio “lack the funds to continue.” The Day Before launched in Early Access on December 7 for PC via Steam. The title had mostly negative reviews with an overwhelmingly negative rating on Steam.

The game’s details via the developer:

The Day Before is an open-world massively multiplayer online survival set in a deadly, post-pandemic America overrun by flesh-hungry infected and survivors killing each other for food, weapons, and cars.
