Publisher Konami and developer MYTHRIL have announced the free to play mobile title Suikoden STAR LEAP. A release date was not announced but the game will launch for iOS and Android devices. A teaser trailer was also released. The game follows the hero, who “along with Hisui, Shirin, and Shapur, embarks on a journey to restore peace to [their] village.” Additionally, an anime based on the Suikoden series based on Suikoden 2 was announced. The production will be from Konami Animation. This will be it’s first production. A teaser for the anime was also released.

A new story of 108 stars about the runes begins.
Since its release in Japan in 1995, Suikoden series has been one of Konami’s most popular RPG series, with 11 titles released, including both the main story and the spin-offs.
Suikoden STAR LEAP is an entirely new addition to the series and is the first title to be tailored for mobile.
The game features beautiful pixel art graphics that enhances on the series’ traditional art style, combined with dynamic sounds to deliver a whole new experience of Suikoden, complete with 108 new stars to meet and befriend.
Story
The Rune of Change is one of the 27 True Runes that are said to have created the world.
The story begins just east to the giant Scarlet Moon Empire, at a village located on the shore of a lake. One night, our hero, the village chief Hou’s son, comes back home successful from his first hunt. The village is filled with celebration and brimming with hope for the coming days, but an assault is launched, and the fate of the village is changed in an instant.
Our hero, along with Hisui, Shirin, and Shapur, embarks on a journey to restore peace to the village.
In the midst of the great whirlpool of destiny, the Hero’s small adventure turns into a large ambition,
For our precious one.
Characters
Hero (voiced by Tomohiro Ono) – The protagonist of this story and son of the village chief, Hou. He is kind, courageous, and charming.
Hisui (voicd by Hika Tsukishiro) – A servant that works in the Hero’s house. Due to reasons unknown, she is suppressing her emotions, however, she is a cheerful and kind girl by nature.
Hou (voiced by Akio Otsuka) – Chief of the village and father of the Hero. He used to be a fiery fighter, but he brought the ruffians together and created a new village. Other than that, his past is shrouded in mystery, but he seems to have relations with many important people in various countries.
Shirin (voiced by Fairouz Ai) – The Hero’s childhood friend. Her high-spirited personality is a mirror to her father’s, who raised her on his own. She sometimes gets caught up in tunnel vision, but her sense of justice is strong.
Shapur (voiced by Takuya Sato) – The Hero’s teacher and butler of the Hou household. He used to be a general. He doesn’t seem to be the kind of person to settle as a butler of a household in a small village…
