Starfield Adds 30FPS, 60FPS, and Uncapped Frame Rate Modes

Bethesda released a new video detailing the upcoming update for Starfield. The update will launch on May 15 and according to the video, the game will finally enable 60 FPS on Xbox Series X. This is done via the new display modes including the Frame Rate Target and “Prioritize” modes. Frame Rate Target gives the option to choose from 30, 40, and 60 FPS, and Prioritize mode is fixed at 40 FPS on a Virtual Refresh Rate Display and sports “full visuals”. Lastly, an uncapped frame rate will also be added for players with a 120Hz Variable Refresh Rate capable monitor. Starfield game director Todd Howard confirmed that Starfield’s Shattered Space expansion will launch sometime this fall. Starfield launched in early access on September 1 and fully on September 6 for Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store. It is also available on Xbox Game Pass.
