Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Launch Trailer Revealed

The launch trailer for upcoming single-player action-adventure title Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was released on YouTube earlier today.

Set a few years after Revenge of the Sith, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order tells the tale of one of the last surviving Jedi, Padawan Cal Kestis. Having escaped the galaxy-wide destruction of the Jedi Order due to the implementation of Order 66, Kestis is on the run from the Galactic Empire when he must use the power of the Force to save a friend, an act of compassion witnessed by a nearby probe droid. When the droid transmits its captured footage to the Empire, Kestis finds himself in mortal danger as the Empire dispatches the Second Sister, trained by Darth Vader himself, to hunt down the elusive Padawan.

Publisher Electronic Arts announced the game at E3 2018, and it is set to be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 15, 2019, heralding the theatrical release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. A tie-in comic series, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order – Dark Temple, was also announced, and began publication in September, with three published issues so far. An additional two issues are yet to come, releasing on November 20 and December 4, 2019.

As reported by PCGames.de and Gaming Instincts earlier this month, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will contain no microtransactions, a breath of relief for harried Electronics Arts gamers after the debacle surrounding Star Wars Battlefront II. A translated quote from Respawn producer Kasumi Shishido reads: “I can assure you that there will be no microtransactions in our game. Much more important is exploring and returning to searched areas. We have distributed boxes within the game world and they are not randomly distributed. They are for good reasons at their localities and the parts in the boxes are tied to the plot. So the players should be motivated to a return trip.”
