In a recent corporate report cited by Insider Gaming, Sony revealed that it will begin to make use of AI and machine learning for game development. It specifically stated that it will use this technology to speed up development. Additionally, it said that it will help bolster “technologies that can help creators engage in maximizing the value of their IP in efficient, high-quality ways, including sensing and capturing as well as real-time 3D processing, AI, and machine learning” It will help “rapidly and at low cost to a broader range of fans.” It will also help 3D processing in games and future products. Lastly, the report reveals that Sony used AI technology to “significantly [shorten] the subtitling process” of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
