Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that the price of PlayStation 5 consoles will be increased from August 21. This is due to “a challenging economic environment.” However, the prices for the accessories will remain unchanged. Prices for the consoles notably increased earlier this year in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, and Africa.
The new changes can be seen below:
PlayStation 5 – $549.99 (previously $499.99)
PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – $499.99 (previously $449.99)
PlayStation 5 Pro – $749.99 (previously $699.99)

The updated PS5 RRPs are effective starting April 14, as follows*:

Additionally, the Disc Drive for PS5 will be getting an RRP decrease effective starting April 14, as follows:
