Silent Hill Remake Officially Announced

Silent Hill 2 remake developer Bloober Team and Konami have announced that a remake of the first Silent Hill game is now in development. The announcement was made during the recent Konami Press Start livestream, but additional details were not revealed. A title teaser trailer with the original game’s theme song was also released.  Silent Hill 2 launched on October 8, 2024 and is available now for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. In Silent Hill 2 remake, players “experience a master-class in psychological survival horror—lauded as the best in the series—on the latest hardware with chilling visuals and visceral sounds.”

Silent Hill 1 details via GOG wishlist:

Silent Hill is the first installment in the Silent Hill series of psychological survival horror video games. Unlike earlier survival horror games that focused on protagonists with combat training, the main character Harry Mason is an average man. The gameplay consists of combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving. The controller vibration is used to indicate Harry’s heartbeat and will vibrate on low health. The player must regularly enter an inventory screen to check Harry’s health, use items, and equip different weapons.
