Sega is Teasing a Big Announcement Coming Soon

Sega has seemingly sent several content creators a card with the words ‘New Era New Energy – Make sure to tune in to The Game Awards December 7th’. Twitch streamer and content creator Curiousjoi first revealed she received the card with others like YouTuber and streamer Maximilian Dood revealing he received one too. Additionally, event creator and host Geoff Keighley quote tweeted Curiousjoi’s post by stating “It’s only just beginning.” Sega is likely using this as a marketing tactic to build hype on the incoming announcement to be made at The Game Awards. Several have begun speculating it will be a new major game, with many convinced it will be a fighting game based on the specific creators that received the card. It’s worth noting that Sega announced back in 2021 that it is developing a “Super Game” project that will include “triple-A titles that cross over Sega’s comprehensive range of technologies” that will “go beyond the traditional framework of games.”

The Game Awards 2023 will premiere on December 7. Nominees include Alan Wake II, Baldur’s gate III, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and more for Game of the Year, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, Final Fantasy XVI, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and more for best narrative, Lies of P, Hi-FI Rush, and more for best direction, and more.
