The best way to summarize DOOM: The Dark Ages is that it lets you live out the ultimate fantasy of a testosterone-fueled, steroid-pumped gym bro who goes to space and slaughters demons—and nothing can stop him. There’s truly nothing else like it on the market right now, especially in today’s overly sanitized, pussy ass snowflake-infested gaming landscape. If I were you, I’d wait a week or so for the game to go on sale to get it at a cheaper price. Ubisoft titles usually fall in value rather quickly and you can find them much cheaper. The game will take you a while to finish, probably upwards of 30 to 50 hours, maybe more depending on your pace and how much of the game you want to complete. Ubisoft had the potential for a standout game, but their greed and baffling choices—chief among them the forced inclusion of Yasuke—undermined the pacing and shattered what could have been a cohesive narrative and fluid gameplay experience.
