Ubisoft has announced that it has canceled six games as part of a review of its content pipeline, including the long-awaited Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake. The canceled projects reportedly include three new intellectual properties and a mobile title. In addition, an unannounced game that was originally planned for release in fiscal year 2026 has been delayed to fiscal year 2027. The publisher also stated that it will refocus development efforts on seven key games to “ensure enhanced quality benchmarks are fully met.” Ubisoft attributed the changes to a “major organizational, operational and portfolio reset” aimed at “renewing the Group’s trajectory toward sustainable growth and robust cash generation,” which it plans to achieve through three main strategic pillars. According to rumors, the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake had been targeting a January 2026 release.
