PlayStation 6 is Sony’s Top Priority Currently

During a recent investor call as revealed by VGC, CEO and President of Sony Interactive Hideaki Nishino spoke on how the company prioritises console hardware over cloud gaming. Nishino believes that console hardware is more sustainable in the long run, and that most players would prefer to “experience gaming through local execution” rather than depend on “network conditions.” Nishino also suggests that the company strategy of creating an eco system of players across the  PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 generations is their Strategy for the PlayStation 6, as that strategy has “huge interest.”  Finally, Nishino claimed that while he couldn’t reveal more details, the “the future of the platform is top of mind” and that PlayStation is “committed to exploring a new and enhanced way for players to engage with our content and services.”
