Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that the PlayStation 5 console has shipped over 54.8 million units worldwide, as of December 31, 2023. Additionally, the company announced that PlayStation Network now has over 123 million active users, up 11 million from last fiscal year. PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 software also sold 89.7 million units combined during the three months ended December 31, 2023. Lastly, Sony revealed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has sold over 10 million units as of February 4, 2024. PlayStation 5 had sold over 50 million units as of December last year. The Sony Group president, chief operating officer, and chief financial officer Hiroki Totoki recently said that the console will enter its “latter half of the console cycle”.
