Persona 5 Strikers Coming To The West, Feb 23, 2021

Persona 5 Strikers has been announced for a Western release, February 23, 2021.

Taking a line from Hyrule Warriors recent interpretation of the Dynasty Warriors franchise, Persona 5 Strikers is a new way to experience the Persona universe. Using characters from Persona 5, players will fight through hordes of enemies to uncover the truth. Players will be able to fight in combat encounters using all of the Phantom Thieves.

The story takes place a few months after the events of Persona 5. The Phantom Thieves of Hearts all download a popular digital assistant app and are sent into a distorted version of the Metaverse after a celebrity who “possesses abnormal popularity”, Alice Hiiragi, convinces them to type a keyword into the application. The Phantom Thieves are split, so Morgana, the protagonist, and Ryuji must find a way out while the rest of the crew finds a way to get them out.

Developing the story further is not something hack-and-slash, beat-em-up, spin-off games are known for, but Hyrule Warriors and now Persona 5 Scramble (Strikers in the West) are changing that. Having a change in the structure of the game and combat is a welcome change of pace when having played 150 hours of both Breath of the Wild and Persona 5. Persona 5 Strikers still maintains the aesthetic and feel of Persona 5; keeping the artistic flourish that made the original so unique. Persona 5 Strikers is another opportunity to go on an adventure with the Phantom Thieves. Another iteration of the Persona 5 story and cast feels like a natural progression; just another episode where the gang gets in too deep and has to find a way out feels like the natural next step in the franchise.

Persona 5 Strikers come out for Western audiences February 23, 2021 for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
