According to Starbreeze‘s global brand director Almir Listo, Payday 3 will require an online connection even in single-player mode. In response to a question regarding whether or not the upcoming crime based shooter could be played offline, Listo said: “No. You will be able to play by yourself, but I do believe you will have to have a connection in order to play, because it’s made in Unreal Engine and has cross-progression and cross-play, I do believe we need you to be online.” Several fans of the series have reacted negatively to the news claiming that the game will not have a long life span due to its online-only nature. PAYDAY 3 will launch on September 21 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass.
