Nintendo has announced a second playtest for a new feature coming to the Nintendo Switch Online service. It will go live from July 28 to August 10. It will be for the same feature seen in the first test back in October 2024. Users can apply via the application website from July 18 at 3:00 p.m. PT / 6:00 p.m. ET to July 21 at 7:59 a.m. PT / 10:59 a.m. ET. Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members can apply to participate on a first-come, first-served basis.

We will perform a test called the Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program related to a service for Nintendo Switch Online.
You must have an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership to apply.
If you are accepted, you must have a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership or a Nintendo Switch Online membership.
This is a test of the same service for which we performed a test in October of 2024.
Participants will need to download exclusive software to their own Nintendo Switch 2 system or Nintendo Switch system.
To be eligible to apply, as of 3:00 PM PT on July 17th you must:
- Have a Nintendo Account registered to either US, Mexico, Canada, Brazil, Japan, UK, France, Germany, Italy or Spain
- Be an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack member
- Be at least 18 years old
If you participated in the previous playtest, you can participate in this playtest as well.Â
For this playtest, Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members can apply to participate individually or as a group.
