Nintendo Reportedly Showed Off The Switch 2 Behind Closed Doors

According to a recent report from Eurogamer based on their sources and sources from VGC, Nintendo reportedly showed off tech demos for its upcoming console and successor to Nintendo Switch. According to Eurogamer, the publisher showed off the tech demo behind closed doors to a select few developers. A demo for the console was reportedly an improved version of the Nintendo Switch exclusive title  Zelda: Breath of the Wild, it ran with improved visuals and at a higher framerate. The tech demo also reportedly ran using Nvidia’s DLSS upscaling technology, with advanced ray tracing capability. It’s also said to have visuals similar to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Additionally, according to a VGC source, Nintendo used the The Matrix Awakens Unreal Engine 5 tech demo to showcase the console’s demo and its potential performance. Nintendo’s next console is reportedly targeting a 2024 release window, and according to VGC’s sources, it will also be a hybrid console similar to the Nintendo Switch.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is now available in Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch, the My Nintendo Store and select retailers at a suggested retail price of $69.99. The Nintendo Switch OLED Model – The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Edition system, featuring a special design (game sold separately), is also available at a suggested retail price of $359.99.

Additionally, two accessories—a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller ($74.99 MSRP) and a Nintendo Switch carrying case ($24.99 MSRP), both with designs from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom—are also now available to purchase.
