Mortal Kombat 1 is Getting a Story DLC and “A Big Surprise”

During a recent interview panel with Brazilian outlet Omelete at the 2023 Comic Con Experience in São Paulo, Mortal Kombat creator and Nether Realm creative director Ed Boon confirmed that Mortal Kombat 1 will get a story DLC similar to the last entry in the series. Boon stated that “just like we did with Mortal Kombat 11, we’re going to release a second part with more story, and we have a big surprise after that.” Mortal Kombat 1 is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

It’s In Our Blood!

Discover a reborn Mortal Kombat™ Universe created by the Fire God Liu Kang. Mortal Kombat™ 1 ushers in a new era of the iconic franchise with a new fighting system, game modes, and fatalities!

Omni-Man, also known as Nolan Grayson, hails from the alien world of Viltrum and has long fought to protect his adopted home of Earth as one of the planet’s most powerful champions. He even raised his son, the hero known as Invincible (Mark Grayson), to follow in his footsteps and carry on his legacy. But the Viltrumite warrior’s true mission was never benevolence—it was conquest. And the Viltrum Empire, hungry for expansion, has no intention of stopping at Earthrealm.
