Modern Warfare Developer Plans to Fix Xbox One X Crashes

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot has been crashing some gamers’ Xbox One X since its release on October 25, 2019. The game’s developer vows to fix this issue, but has not given a specific time frame for the patch.

Similar to the problems that arose with Bandai Namco’s Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, many Xbox One X users are experiencing crashes when playing the new iteration of Modern Warfare.

In a reddit post, Infinity Ward announced that they have identified the issue causing the crashes on Microsoft’s most powerful console and will be working with Microsoft to fix the problem. However, the post did not specify what the particular issue is.

The crashes seem to be random for Xbox One X users, with some players not being affected at all while others can’t play the game altogether.

In addition to identifying the Xbox One X crashes, Infinity Ward’s reddit post confirms a playlist update, which includes adding “64 player count Ground War on Quarry,” “A fix for being unable to revive in HC Cyber Attack,” and “Defcon timer is now 45 seconds.”

The developer went on to show its gratitude towards fans for the immense amounts of positive feedback they’ve received online regarding Modern Warfare’s campaign.

Finally, Infinity Ward shared another reddit link where they will continue to post updates regarding patch notes for their newest heavy hitter in the Call of Duty franchise. So far, the post has been updated daily since Modern Warfare’s release three days ago and includes PC specific fixes, playlist updates, and title updates.

Along with Spec Ops Mode being a PlayStation 4 exclusive until October 2020, Xbox One X players will either have to wait for a crash fix to be rolled out or play the game regardless and risk running into the issue.
