According to a new report from the YouTube channel Moore’s Law is Dead, Microsoft has been considering a 2027 launch window for its next-gen Xbox console. They also claim they’ve gotten access to the console’s AMD accelerated processing unit which powers the console, called Magnus. The APU will also have a chiplet GPU that is based on AMDs Radeon products. It will have 68 RDNA5 compute units, with 4 shader engines. The CPU, on the other hand, will allegedly be made with AMD’s Zen 6 architecture. The memory bus is also reportedly 192-bit, capable of being configured to use 24 GB, 36 GB or 48 GB of RAM. However, given these stats, the console will only be around 30-35 percent higher in terms of performance compared to PlayStation 6’s rumored chip performance.
According to a past report, the next Xbox title after the Xbox Series X/S has been fully greenlit and is expected to launch in 2027, though this release window is “tentative”. The console also planned alongside a first-party Xbox handheld console. It’s worth noting that this is all just rumours for now and should be taken with a grain of salt.
