In a recent financial statement, Remedy Entertainment CEO Tero Virtala stated that the upcoming Max Payne 1 and 2 remakes will enter full production sometime before July. It is reportedly currently in the “production ready state”. The games are also being fully funded by Rockstar Games and will have a similar budget to Alan Wake 2 which had a budget reported to be between €50-€70 million. “Max Payne 1 and 2 Remake also continued in the production readiness stage,” said Virtala. “The team made considerable progress throughout the year. Max Payne 1&2 remake is going to be a major new game with great potential, enabled by a similar development budget as Alan Wake 2.” A release window for the remakes has yet to be announced.
