Legend of Dragoon Remake Vaguely Teased by Bluepoint Games Director

There’s been plenty of speculation as to what remaster/remake veterans Bluepoint Games have been working on lately. Since the release of Shadow of the Colossus Remake on PS4 in 2018, there’s been a flurry of guesses, demands and hype surrounding what series they’d like to see remade from the remaster dedicated studio.

Perhaps one of the more popular opinions on what Bluepoint Games should tackle next has been the cult-classic PlayStation RPG, Legend of Dragoon. The classic game was moderately successful in its day while never receiving any proper additional treatment beyond only talks of a sequel, only for the project to be canceled early on in development.

However, recently Bluepoint Games’ technical director Peter Dalton has made some interesting waves in the long road of bringing Legend of Dragoon back to video games. A Twitter follower asked Dalton about his thoughts on the game, and seemingly raised a few eyebrows with his response.

Not only did Dalton give his personal thumbs up on the classic RPG, but also slung a subtle tease out in the wild. While he comments on loving Legend of Dragoon, he also offers up an interesting query that many of us have been asking for quite some time. Why yes, Legend of Dragoon should be a project for Bluepoint Games, Peter Dalton. Yes it should.

It certainly is exciting to see a little bit of enthusiasm shared between fans and developers on classic games throughout video game history. A few other games that fans have been clamoring for Bluepoint Games to bring back – both Demon’s Souls and Metal Gear Solid are at the top of those lists. Out of the three titles, I really don’t think any of those would sell poorly.

While Bluepoint has yet to reveal what they’ve been working on since the release of Shadow of the Colossus, they did tease earlier this year that their next project was substantially bigger, with Peter Dalton simply stating the next project “goes well beyond what we thought was possible on Shadow of the Colossus.”

For whatever it’s worth, it does seem like there’s some substantial amount of love for the Legend of Dragoon series and certainly seems to draw some attention form the studio themselves. Regardless, we’ll just have to wait and see what’s next for the veteran game studio.
