Laser Disco Defenders Release Date Announced

It was announced by Out of Bounds Games, that gamers are invited to join the Laser Disco Defenders on their quest to defeat the evil Lord Monotone and prevent him from using the coveted Mirror Moon to force the galaxy into dancing along to his, and only his, tune. This Autumn you will need to be on your toes as you dodge the laser beams fired, taking care as they ricochet off walls.  Time now to face off Monotone’s various robotic machinations!

Check out one of the trailers of Laser Disco Defenders when it was launched on the PS Vita, showcasing the games’ features:

“Be it in flamboyant flame sneakers or a cool rapid fire chrome suit, in this fast-paced high impact twin stick shooter you get to decide how your favourite disco defender looks and plays based on what outfit you choose to wear. Time to save the galaxy and look like a cool cat!

  • Randomly generated levels set across three areas, each with their own cave formations
  • Slow down time, spawn a black hole or swing the beam blade to defeat Lord Monotone’s minions
  • Choose your own look and play style with different characters and outfit combinations
  • Online leader boards shows you the “master of the dance floor”
  • Incredibly groovy 70’s disco style soundtrack
  • Funky visuals inspired by 70s fashion and cheesy sci-fi flicks

The game has already enjoyed an initial airing on Sony Vita and a considerable amount of press interest and while the PC & PS4 versions are due for release at the end of September, journalists, gaming streamers and reviewers are encouraged to register their interest with the press office in order to receive a review copy in advance of this release date. Gamers can also sign up for the Laser Disco Defenders mailing list to receive news and updates about the game and to purchase the game for themselves by visiting the Excalibur website.
A single level playable demo will also be launched by the company on September 1st, details about this can be found via the Excalibur website or by contacting the press office on the details below.

Excalibur have also secured the right, courtesy of San Juan Music, to sell the original Disco Inferno soundtrack by The Trammps alongside Laser Disco Defenders on Steam.  The version of Disco Inferno on offer features all of the original singers most notably Jimmy Ellis who died in 2012.
“If you had told me a year ago I would be releasing my own disco themed game I wouldn’t have believed you! It’s been a lot of fun working with Excalibur to bring this game and the groovy universe it takes place in to life so I’m really looking forward to see the reception to the game.”
