Kim is Coming on October 24 for PC

It was announced by The Secret Games Company, that they are inviting you to explore Nobel prize-winning author Rudyard Kipling’s India in their upcoming game – Kim. In Kim, named after the game’s hero, you’ll enjoy branching narratives, stealth, combat and survival gameplay. Kim is set for an October 24 release on Steam and GOG.com.

“Kim is an open world RPG set in Rudyard Kipling’s colonial India. Play as his ragamuffin hero Kim and roam hand-painted towns and procedurally generated countryside. Learn to survive as a penniless urchin, complete objectives, collect items and garner favour with the spies of the secret service. Your aim is to live Kim’s youth as best you can for it is fleeting but if at first you don’t succeed, you may retell this classic adventure as often as you wish! 

About The Secret Games Company

The Secret Games Company is an indie game developer established in 2012 and based in London, UK. They are a small team of experienced devs, who met working together at British games studios and decided to found their own. They set out to make truly original games, which offer deep gameplay, on PC, tablet or tabletop. Kim is their third title following simultaneous turn-based tactics game, Rise: Battle Lines and board game, Dreaming Spires.”

Why Early Access?

“We want player feedback to inform the final phases of development.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect to do our full launch this autumn.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to polish the game, tune the systems for better game balance, fix bugs and add Linux support.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Early Access is our open beta, the game is working well but there are still bugs and areas we want to polish.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We’re going to keep the same price for the first year the game is available and only do small discounts during sales.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We use the Steam forum to communicate with our players, we read all feedback and respond to as much as we can. We can’t promise to grant every request but our aim is to make everyone as happy as possible while staying true to our vision for the game.”
