According to a reliable Rockstar insider, remasters of GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption “were on the table a few years ago” but have seemingly been canceled or delayed indefinitely to focus on the next and highly anticipated title in the Grand Theft Auto series, GTA 6. Additionally, the insider claimed that the remaster cancellations also resulted from the poor reception of the recent Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy remasters. Kotaku added to this by citing sources that backed up the claims while also noting that the Red Dead Redemption and GTA IV remasters aren’t completely “out of scope” and could be developed in the future.
