Grow: Song of the Evertree

Grow: Song of The Evertree announced

The developers behind the indie game Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles, Prideful Sloth, has a new game that will be sprouting onto consoles and Steam. The name of their next game is Grow: Song of The Evertree, and will be developed with the help of 505 Games.

Similar to many indie games in recent years, the game aims to offer a more cozy and relaxing experience. Players can expect a world-crafting sandbox experience with elements of life management and exploration elements.

The game is set in the fantasy world of Alaria. Once a vibrant and colorful world, a plague known as the withering has ravaged the land. The color of the land to fade and the Evergreen, which held multiple worlds on its branches, to shrivel to a sapling.

As an Everheart Alchemist, the player will be tasked with trying to regrow the world. They will have to learn to nurture, care for, and eventually grow the branches of the Evertree, allowing life to blossom back into existence.

Cheryl Vance, game designer for Prideful Sloth, explained that:

“With Grow we wanted to create a game that gave the player a sense of adding to the world, rather than taking away from it. This world is a giant garden, a place where you can tend and care for it, guiding it in the direction you wish it to grow,”

She added:

“We give you the ability to craft and customise your game experience; to let you determine the pace in which you do it. If you find a cave and get sidetracked from your current objective, that’s ok! If you want to befriend as many critters as you can, that’s ok, too. You are encouraged to play the way you want to, without penalty or pressure.”

The game will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam however there is currently no release date.
