GRID (2019) is technically the fourth game in the series but serves as a reboot for the series. It is a series that has been known for its intense stock car and Formula 1 racing. In this entry, Codemasters really seems to be trying to appeal to as many racing fans as possible.

Back in May they said:

GRID is a series that our community loves, and we’re very excited to bring it to the next-generation consoles. The game offers a lot of variety and depth, with many modern or legendary cars to drive in different locations and in different racing formats. Renowned for its grip, the game will appeal to all types of players, whether they are just there to have fun or they are fans of more serious simulations.

Now with this trailer, they are highlighting several new features for the reboot. One of the most interesting is the new A.I. System. The A.I. will respond to the way you race becoming more aggressive as the races go on. This will lead to eventually building a rivalry with an A.I. driver. This will lead to that driver becoming your nemesis or vice versa. In the trailer it is not clear if that leads to unique campaign moments, but it does seem to imply that this new feature will make races more dynamic.

Another feature highlighted was the online multiplayer. The trailer says that players will be able to create online events to challenge each other. GRID is really hoping to be able to compete with other online racers, and with emphasis on making the online scene more dynamic, might succeed.

GRID is releasing on Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC on October 11, 2019. It will be receiving a Stadia release at a later date.
