Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered Trailer Revealed

Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered release date is right around the corner, and now there is a new trailer. Check it out here.

This trailer takes advantage of the great fare from the original release. Fans are featured heavily in this new trailer to speak about their favorite memories. Saber Interactive is really trying to bring emphasis on what made the original release really special. Here is their official statement:

Manhattan is overrun once more by ghosts, demons and other paranormal creatures unleashed by a mysterious force, and only the Ghostbusters can drive this evil back to whatever dimension it crawled from. Hunt and trap a variety of new and infamous ghouls and phantasms — all remastered in HD resolution — with cool gadgets and weapons, thrilling boss fights, and destructible environments.

In the new trailer, we also get to see snippets of game play in Ghostbusters Remastered. One of the things that really stood out in the original game was the fact that they got the original cast to return for their characters from the films. This added a sense of authenticity to what could have been an easy cash grab.

It helps as well that the original was actually fairly critically acclaimed. The highlights included solid gun play, some surprisingly creepy sections, and extremely memorable boss fights.

Another thing that will probably help this release is when it is coming. It releases right around the 35th anniversary of the original movie. Ghostbusters have become a cultural icon and the game took advantage of the iconic soundtrack and enemies from the films.

The game itself picks up two years after the second film. It is a direct continuation of the original story lines. So you could look at it as the third entry to the original duo-logy.

Ghostbusters: the Video Game Remastered is releasing on October 5, 2019 on Xbox One, Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
