Borderlands 4 has famously had PC optimization issues. Now, players are reporting that the issues also extend to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. Many players have especially reported several performance issues on the PlayStation 5 Pro, with most claiming the game runs worse over time, suggesting a memory leak issue. Following these reports, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford took to Twitter to acknowledge the issue and states that there are plans for it to be patched. “Known issue of perf dropping on PS5 pro after several hours of continuous play,” he wrote. “Workaround until we patch: Quit game and restart. Sorry for the friction!”
Borderlands 4 is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. It will then launch for Switch 2 on October 3. The game “brings intense action, badass Vault Hunters, and billions of wild and deadly weapons to an all-new planet ruled by a ruthless tyrant.”
