Forza Horizon 5

Forza Horizon 5 Has Biggest Launch of An Xbox Games Studios Title

Forza Horizon 5 had the biggest launch of any Xbox Games Studios title in the history of the label according to Xbox Brand Head Phil Spencer. He stated that the game has amassed 4.5 million players across PC, cloud gaming, and consoles, delivering triple the number of concurrent players at its peak that Forza Horizon 4 managed to achieve in its lifetime.

These numbers also reflect how accessible the game is to Xbox players across their many platforms. On both console and PC, the game is available through the Xbox Game Pass, allowing for players that might be hesitant to take a trip south of the border to play the game relatively risk-free. Microsoft has also made multiple strides to make cloud gaming more viable across multiple platforms, such as tablets, laptops, and the consoles themselves.

A premium version of the game, costing $99 dollars was also available, giving players early access to the game which started on November 4th. Even those numbers were high for the game, amassing over 1 million drivers before the game had even officially released.

The Forza Horizon series have been a staple of the Xbox platform for several years already, however, the stars had largely aligned to get the recognition it deserves. With Microsoft purchasing several studios to sure up their first-party lineup there are a lot of games to look forward to but many are slated for 2022.

Currently, with the Xbox Series X passing its one-year anniversary, it had yet to get a game that showcases it using a large amount of the power it affords. Based on the reviews for the game, Forza Horizon 5 is definitely one of the first games to do so, though based on what Microsoft has showcased, it is certainly not the last they have in store to do so.
