Epic Games and their battle royale juggernaut Fortnite are gearing up for the Season 9 introduction which is expected to start later this week. Epic released a teaser image via Twitter showing an android-like character with the caption, “The Future is Unknown. 5.9.2019.”
While this is the only official tease from Epic thus far, there is plenty of speculation in terms of what to expect in the newest season. The recent event over the weekend saw players choosing a weapon from a select few items which they’d like to see unvaulted in the future of the game.

The controversial Infinity Blade, X-4 Stormwing Plane and tactical SMG were all apart of the selection, but the winner was last summer’s Drum Gun. So it may be likely we’ll see the unique weapon make a come back in Season 9, though, there’s sure to be much more considering the first teaser image revealed.
With Season 8 ending on May 8, 2019, we’re set up for the next season to start in Fortnite on May 9, 2019 – this Thursday. Until then, keep your eyes peeled for more teases from Epic as we head towards the official start of Season 9.
