Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia ‘A Master Class in Strategy’ Trailer

Nintendo has posted a 5-minute English trailer for Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, detailing many of the gameplay elements – old and new – found in this remake of Fire Emblem Gaiden.

In the new video for Fire Emblem Echoes you’ll learn about each character’s individual strengths and progression paths. It’s a lengthy one but it goes to show you how much strategy goes into the art of war. Start with the Villager class and progress down a multitude of options as they can be evolve to many classes. Equip your characters with specific items that will enable them to learn special Combat Arts.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia will release on May 19, 2017 for Nintendo 3DS.

In 1992, the second game in the Fire Emblem series, Fire Emblem Gaiden, launched exclusively in Japan. Now, for the first time, fans outside of Japan will get a taste of this classic game on the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is inspired by the 1992 original, reimagined on a grander scale. Every aspect of the Fire Emblem Gaiden game’s presentation has been updated, along with the game being fully voiced. Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia recreates classic Fire Emblem gameplay with a modern twist, mixing in exploration of dungeons crawling with enemies.
