According to game director Todd Howard in a recent interview with BBC Newsbeat, Bethesda’s upcoming Fallout title will be affected by the events of Amazon’s ongoing Fallout series adaptation, and will be taken into account. “In short, yes. Fallout 5 will exist in a world where the stories and events of the show happened or are happening. We are taking that into account,” said Howard. This may suggest that Fallout 5 will reference events or even include characters from the series.
Back in October, Todd Howard stated that while no announcements are planned yet, Bethesda is currently working on something for the Fallout franchise. “Even though I am recording this — it’s not live — and I’m probably watching myself right now from my desk and I’m reading your chat and these… that thing you want and this other thing you want… Hey, we read it all,” said Howard. “Just know we are working on even more. We are looking forward to the day when we can share that with everybody.” In recent news, publisher Bethesda Softworks and developer Bethesda Game Studios released Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition. It launched on November 10 for all current platforms.
