Embracer Group is Reportedly Looking to Sell Gearbox Entertainment

According to a report from Reuters and its sources, Embracer Group is considering selling Gearbox Entertainment, the company notably behind the Borderlands series. Embracer Group first acquired Gearbox entertainment back in February 2021. According to some of Reuters’ sources, Embracer has received offers and interest from several companies for Gearbox Entertainment. Additionally, Embracer is reportedly in talks with Goldman Sachs and Aream & Co about a sale. However, some of the website’s sources claim a deal may not happen. Embracer Group has been in the process of restructuring which has resulted in many layoffs and studio closures including Saints Row series developer Volition.
