Fans hotly anticipating the upcoming Elden Ring got what they were hoping for when Bandai Namco and Fromsoftware finally showcased 15 minutes of gameplay during a live stream earlier today. While a gameplay trailer was released before this is the first time the public has gotten to see the game actually being played before some will get a chance to do so starting on November 12 with the closed network test.

As expected a big focus of the showcase is on the exploration of The Lands Between, which are more open than anywhere Fromsoftware let players explore before. The opening to the gameplay explains that important locations will have a narrative marker in the form of guiding light, manifested from sits of grace, to guide the player. It is on the player to follow them or simply go off and explore the vast world either on foot or on horseback.

Combat was also shown off, which should look familiar to fans of the Souls games as it consists of mostly slow but methodical tricks before backing out with a dodge roll before you get murdered. Players will also get powerful abilities that can be mixed into combat for added damage. Abilities showcased included a powerful frontal beam of light, as well as a multi arrow attack that was performed on horseback.

It was also announced that Elden Ring will be getting a Collectors edition, and premium collects edition, which can be seen below:
