Bandai Namco and A24 have announced that the live-action film adaptation of Elden Ring will release on March 3, 2028, in IMAX. Production is set to begin this spring. The companies also revealed the film’s full cast.

Elden Ring was created under the guidance of FromSoftware’s Hidetaka Miyazaki, based on a mythological story written by George R. R. Martin, author of the fantasy novel series, A Song of Ice and Fire.
To bring the epic world and intense action of Elden Ring to film, the project will be led by filmmaker Alex Garland (Ex Machina, Civil War, Warfare) as writer and director. The film will be produced by Peter Rice alongside Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich from DNA, and George R. R. Martin, and Vince Gerardis.
Elden Ring is an action RPG set in an authentic dark fantasy world. The game allows players to explore vast environments and dungeons to discover the unknown and enjoy the sense of accomplishment that comes from overcoming obstacles and challenges. Combining the development capabilities of FromSoftware and the marketing power of Bandai Namco Entertainment‘s overseas network, this title was released on February 25, 2022, and has shipped more than 30 million units worldwide.
An Elden Ring spinoff, Elden Ring Nightreign, is set for simultaneous worldwide release on Friday, May 30, 2025. The title is an action game where players cooperate to overcome a variety of challenging situations. While carrying over elements from ELDEN RING, such as weapons and enemies, the game has been redesigned to provide players with a completely new gameplay experience. Players will choose from a cast of unique characters to face off against a new threat.
Elden Ring Tarnished Edition, an all-in-one version of Elden Ring for the Nintendo Switch 2, is set to release in 2025. It includes content from the downloadable content Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, released in June 2024, and four new armor sets and a new appearance customization feature for Torrent the Spectral Steed (three variants) have also been added to this edition. Players can look forward to playing Elden Ring Tarnished Edition anytime, anywhere on the Nintendo Switch 2.
