The Entertainment Software Association and ReedPop have officially confirmed that E3 2023 has been canceled. The event was initially planned to run from June 13 to 26 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. In a report by IGN, the companies stated that they “understand that interested companies wouldn’t have playable demos ready and that resourcing challenges made being at E3 this summer an obstacle they couldn’t overcome.” However, the companies also stated that they will continue to work together on “future E3 events.” The announcement came after several reports and confirmations from multiple publishers about opting out of the event.

ReedPop global vice president of gaming Kyle Marsden-Kish commented on the announcement, saying:
“This was a difficult decision because of all the effort we and our partners put toward making this event happen, but we had to do what’s right for the industry and what’s right for E3,” “We appreciate and understand that interested companies wouldn’t have playable demos ready and that resourcing challenges made being at E3 this summer an obstacle they couldn’t overcome. For those who did commit to E3 2023, we’re sorry we can’t put on the showcase you deserve and that you’ve come to expect from ReedPop’s event experiences.”
SEGA’s recent statement regarding the event:
“After careful consideration, we have decided not to participate in E3 2023 as an exhibitor. We look forward to sharing more information on announced and unannounced projects in the future.”
Ubisoft:
“E3 has fostered unforgettable moments across the industry throughout the years. While we initially intended to have an official E3 presence, we’ve made the subsequent decision to move in a different direction, and will be holding a Ubisoft Forward Live event on June 12 in Los Angeles. We look forward to sharing more details with our players very soon.”
