Dragon Ball FighterZ Rollback Netcode and Next-gen Upgrade Announced

At EVO 2022, publisher Bandai Namco and developer Arc System Works announced that its fighting game based on the DragonBall series, Dragon Ball FighterZ, will launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S with rollback netcode included, which will also launch for PC. Players who own the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version will be able to upgrade to the next-gen versions for free. A release date for the upgrade and rollback update has yet to be announced. Additionally, Dragon Ball FighterZ producer Tomoko Hiroki also confirmed on stage at EVO 2022 that the upcoming update will be the game’s last as there are no plans for additional balance updates or character DLCs.

The full announcement on the upgrade and rollback update via the Dragon Ball FighterZ team can be seen below.

We are pleased to announce the upcoming release of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of Dragon Ball FighterZ with the rollback netcode system implemented.

As a result of our continuous testing to include the rollback system, it has been confirmed that the implementation can be applied to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and we have officially been working on its production.

The PlayStation 4 version will be compatible with the upgrade program while the Xbox One version will be compatible with Smart Delivery.

We also expect the PC version to be updated so that users can choose either delay or the rollback netcode system. (*The recommended specs for the rollback system are expected to be higher than the current ones.)

It will take some time until the system is implemented, but we sincerely hope you will enjoy it as soon as possible.

More information will be released at a later date. Please wait for further details.

Appreciate your continued support of Dragon Ball FighterZ
