Devolver Digital has announced today that this year’s Devolver Direct, their digital showcase will take place on July 11 at 3PM EST. The show will be pre-recorded and broadcast live on Twitch and Steam. The developers promise, “New game reveals, gameplay reveals, release date announcements, and special guests from the industry to help usher in these important marketing bullet points.”
The press release also promises “nearly all gameplay because that’s what the youths of today demand.” The show will end with “a few surprises”, and demos for the games will become available to play directly after the showcase. Demos will include Carrion, Disc Room, and an unannounced title.
Devolver Digital is responsible for the publication of games like Ruiner, Serious Sam, and Hotline Miami. Devolver is also known for surprising and sometimes ‘campy’ showcases. This year should prove no different for the company.
The company specialises in the publication of indie games and they are based in Austin Texas. The company has also began to work on films through Devolver Digital Films. They are still a relatively small company and as of January this year employs 20 people.
Devolver is currently also working on making Switch ports for existing games, so fans can expect announcements for those games at the showcase as well.
