Developer Deviation Games has announced that it has officially shut down. While a specific reason was not disclosed, the company announced that it will soon be hosting a networking event for all its affected staff. Deviation Games was established in 2020 by Call of Duty veteran developers Dave Anthony and Jason Blundell. In 2021, the studio announced it was developing a “groundbreaking AAA original intellectual property” to be published by Sony. However, according to reports from last year, the project had been canceled following layoffs in the same year.
Deviation Games chief human resources and operations officer Kriste Stull spoke on the news in a recent LinkedIn post:
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Deviation Games,” “I want to express my deepest gratitude to our entire team. Thank you for all your hard work, dedication, and contributions to Deviation; I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have worked with each and every one of you.”
