Death Stranding is a game that is known to have a sort of Online element to it. It was revealed at Tokyo Game show that the game’s Online is similar to Dark Souls where you can leave items for other players to use. So naturally, people would think that they need a PlayStation Plus Subscription right? Well this is not the case.
According to MP1st, they found that the limited edition PS4 Pro box had this written on it.
Paid for Playstation plus subscriptoin required for online multiplayer sold separately. Death Stranding does not require PlayStation plus subscription.
This does seem to confirm that the game definitely does not need a subscription to play, since the online element isn’t face-to-face at the very least.
This does seem strange as usually people need a subscription to play games like Bloodborne and Dark Souls, but that does not seem to be the case with Death Stranding.
This is not to say that PS Plus isn’t needed as most people probably need it to play many multiplayer games, well whatever the case, you don’t need a subscription.
