Dead Space Writer Teases Reveal At PlayStation Event

The PlayStation event is due for Thursday of this week on June 11, and former Dead Space writer Antony Johnston has teased a new game on twitter for the event.

Sony has not revealed what games will be shown off at the event yet, but fans can expect a new title from Johnston to play a part in the show. The writer tweeted: “As some of you know, I’ve been working on a big video-game for almost 2 years now. In totally unrelated news, you should all watch the PS5 launch event on Thursday.”

Johnston also replied to that “hint: you play a character having a really bad time.”, which does not give much detail regarding the game. However, it hints at a survival horror title.

Johnston has also worked on other titles such as Zombi U, Shadow of Mordor, and Binary Domain. His novels also inspired movies such as Atomic Blonde.

Unfortunately, the game to be revealed is unlikely to be another Dead Space title. The original developers of Dead Space, Visceral Studios, shut down in 2017. Most of the original team now works for other developers.

Regardless, fans of the console can look forward to the game being released during the holiday season of 2020. Confirmed titles for the console include: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Dirt 5, Fifa 21, Godfall, Madden 21, NHL 21, Observer: System Redux, Outriders, Quantum Error, Rainbow Six Siege, Redo! Enhanced Edition, Ultimate Fishing Simulator 2, and Warframe.

PlayStation CEO reveals that “the games you’ll see on Thursday will look even better when you play them on PS5 with a 4K TV, as you’d expect.

It’s also best if you watch while wearing headphones, if you can — there’s some cool audio work in the show, and it might be harder to appreciate if it’s pumped through your phone or laptop speakers.”
