The PC Classic is a miniature game console that lets you play classic DOS games at home, at parties, conventions, and wherever else computer games from the 80s and 90s are required. The system is joystick-enabled, pre-configured, licensed, and incredibly easy to use.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is this a real thing that I can actually buy?
    Yes, it really will be.
  • Does the PC Classic come with games? What games will be available?
The PC Classic will come with at least 30 games, with more available for purchase separately. We don’t have a list of confirmed titles yet, but the goal is to provide all of the games that defined the PC gaming experience of the 80s and 90s.
  • Can I play with a keyboard/mouse instead of a joystick/gamepad?
Yes! All of the games will be configured to support a gamepad, keyboard, and/or mouse, as appropriate.
  • What peripherals/controllers come with the PC Classic?
Current plans are to include at least a gamepad with the system. We’re still reviewing suppliers and hope to offer a mini keyboard and mouse to complement the unit as well. Additional peripherals will be available for purchase on our site.
  • Will the PC Classic come in other colors? Chain-smoker beige doesn’t complement my furniture.
Yes, heretic, we will also offer at least 1 other color in a more modern palette. The faceplate will also more closely match the enclosure color in production models.
  • Can I get a PC Classic to review on my channel/stream?
Possibly! Fill out our form to apply to be an influencer.
  • Why are you crowdfunding?
We’re a small company and plastic molds cost several thousand dollars (for cheap ones), minimum order quantities on peripherals are often high, price breaks on components require large orders, and IP licenses often require large cash advances.
  • Won’t licensing be very difficult for this? How will you accomplish it?
We negotiated over 150 song licenses for our arcade & mobile game Neon FM (music licensing can be especially complex when composers, producers, labels, and unions can all require contracts for a single track) and have previously licensed and/or collaborated with major IP holders, including Apogee, Sega, Namco, and Andamiro. We’re a Maryland company with strong ties to the Baltimore development scene, which includes such major studios as Zenimax (and by extension, id Software), Bethesda Softworks, Firaxis, MicroProse (former members), Simutronics, and more.
  • Can’t I just buy a Raspberry Pi, an enclosure, gamepad, keyboard, and mouse, 3D print a faceplate, install Armbian, buy 30+ games, build the source for ARM or install/configure in DOSBox for each and every game, create a menu system with game art, and tell everyone about it at parties?
    No.
