MachineGames is gearing up to release their upcoming spin-off co-op title, Wolfenstein:Youngblood. The game looks like an excellent take on the iconic Wolfenstein series as it’s the first title in the franchise to not feature the resilient B.J. Blazkowicz, instead starring his twin daughters – Jessica and Sophia.

However, with a discussion with Game Informer, MachineGames did let a bit of a “touchy” detail out into the open. Apparently the new game will feature various microtransactions, such as cosmetic items and progression items like weapons and upgrades. They also explained that these items would be unlockable with in-game currency, but are merely options for players who wish to pay for progression over actually taking the time to play through the game.
As for now, we have no indication on how long it would take to unlock these items with in-game currency. However, as the game will be geared more towards a single player (or online co-op) experience with no multiplayer competitive modes, the microtransactions shouldn’t be too much for concern – just as long there’s no insane hurdles to jump through or overly extensive amounts of tedious and time consuming grinding to overcome in order to unlock these items.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood is set to release on July 26, 2019 for the PS4, Xbox One, Switch, Stadia and PC.
