Compulsion Games Community Manager Says She “Hate Gamers”, Previously Stated “White male gamers were a mistake”

In a recently surfaced tweet, Compulsion Games community manager Katie Robinson (aka PikaChulita on Twitch) stated that she “hates gamers”. The tweet was resurfaced by Twitter user ScreamerRSA and former World of Warcraft Team Lead Mark Kern who criticized her comments on the internet and her company’s association with the highly contentious company Sweet Baby Inc. She also notably stated that Asians are “white adjacent” in another previous tweet. The initial tweet was notably made on February 14, after Robinson made her public announcement that she had joined Compulsion Games as their community manager in September 2023.

Prior to being employed at Compulsion Games, she infamously admitted to saying that ‘White male gamers were a mistake,” in a previous interview with Refinery 29. “You’re not going to tickle some people’s fancy being outspoken or tweeting things like I do when I say, ‘White male gamers were a mistake.'” She said, “I like to think that my kind of presence acts as a way to kind of show people like, ‘Hey, you can be outspoken. You can have a backbone and stand for something and still be successful’”. Developer Compulsion Games’ upcoming title South of Midnight was announced back in June 2023. It will be published by Xbox Game Studios and will launch for PC and Xbox Series X/S. It will also be on Xbox Game Pass.

The game’s details via the publisher:

From the creators of Contrast and We Happy Few, South of Midnight is a spellbinding third person action adventure game set in the American Deep South. As Hazel, you will explore the mythos and encounter creatures of Southern folklore in a macabre and fantastical world. When disaster strikes her hometown, Hazel is called to become a Weaver: a magical mender of broken bonds and spirits. Imbued with these new abilities, Hazel will confront and subdue dangerous creatures, untangle the webs of her own family’s shared past and—if she’s lucky—find her way to a place that feels like home.
