CD Projekt To Work On Multiple Projects

Following the acquisition of Digital Scapes, CD Projekt is trying to convince investors that they won’t be dragged down by the disappointing release of Cyberpunk 2077. The Polish studio will move on with a new strategy that will see multiple projects being developed at once.

“We want to be sure that we can work with two global brands at the same time while ensuring top quality of our products,” said CD Projekt Red chief technology officer and head of production Paweł Zawodny. “We emphasize technological advancements and we want to set up versatile teams which combine various specializations and competencies. These teams will be further assisted by a cross-projects group of experts, who — owing to their expertise — can contribute to key aspects of development.”

The management at CD Projekt Red also promises that their future marketing campaigns will be closer to release in an attempt to avoid excessive hype and unrealistic expectations, there is an acknowledgment from the studio that Cyberpunk 2077 was announced way too early before its launch.

CD Projekt Red also announce their plans to add more online features to upcoming games, those experiences will not separate the studio from the single-player RPGs like The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077.

The new strategy is also to expand the audience beyond fans of the single-player role-playing game. Executives affirmed that the company will develop new games that will be “genre-blending with [a] AAA RPG core,” while focusing on online functionality.

The company is also hoping to expand its franchises to different media including animated shows for The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077 and a live-action movie for Cyberpunk is in consideration. The strategy is was resumed as “redoubling its efforts to secure a sustainable and caring work environment.”

“For years we have been underscoring our belief that our greatest asset is our team,” CD Projekt Red studio head Adam Badowski said in today’s strategy update. “CD Projekt will remain an inclusive and diverse workplace; however, we also want to emphasize the well-being of our employees and provide them with professional and personal development opportunities.”
